Overview:
The King Tiger KT-D is the final evolution of the Tiger series main battle tanks. The King Tiger, weighing in at a massive 100 tons is one of the most powerful, and most expensive armored fighting vehicles ever produced. The King Tiger was designed to give armored columns battlefield superiority, a task that it is well suited to perform.

Capabilities:

The King Tiger is a heavily armed, heavily armored main battle tank that should be used in the assualt role. With 19.5 tons of A.C.E. Type 5 Super Heavy Armor with CASE, the King Tiger can take a great deal of punishment before delivering a devastating barrage of its own. While the armor is weaker in the rear of the tank, it is strong enough to withstand attacks from the lighter, smaller vehicles that would swarm the earlier model Tigers.

The King Tiger is powered by a Fusion XL engine that allowed for a greater payload. The engine can be tempermental however, and the sheer mass of the King Tiger means that its cross country manueverability can be very poor at times. While the King Tiger can move at an average speed accross level terrain, rough terrain or boggy terrain will often leave a King Tiger unable to move.

The real strength of the King Tiger is its heavy armament. Mounting 2 Norse-Storm Model 7D Gauss Rifles and a Chiscomp 43 Special Large Laser in the Turret, the King Tiger is able to pummel enemies from afar. The secondary weapons on the King Tiger are a Sperry Browning Machine Gun and a pair of Holly SRM6's mounted on the vehicles brow.

Deployment:

Very few King Tigers have entered active service with the Federated Suns to date, probably due to the enormous cost of the vehicle. However, in the few regiments that do use the King Tiger, the vehicles are generally formed into independant lances that support assault operations. The King Tiger will normally be the heavy firepower of a heavy tank company, or act as the command lance of a tank battalion.
