Overview:

The Locust is one of the most common Mechs in the Inner Sphere, being produced in various versions in at least eight factories.   The LCT-1T variant is produced in the Taurian Concrodat and is utilized in the scouting role.   The Taurians have somewhat upgraded the base chassis, but have still managed to keep the mech affordable and easy to repair.

Capabilities:

The LCT-1T is the standard Locust chassis, the Corean-II Delux.   However, the chassis is slightly modified to allow for the addition of advanced electronics and armor.   Otherwise, it remains completely unchanged from the original chassis that was first produced centuries ago.

The modifications include the addition of Durallex Light Ferro-Fibrous armor in place of the original standard armor type.   Lighter and able to withstand more damage, the ferro-fibrous armor is a much needed addition, though it did require moving some of the original armor attachment points, and a reworking of the mechs foot actuators.

The second improvement comes for the addition of an Apple Churchill Beagle Active Probe.   This active sensor allows the LCT-1T to function more like a forward scout and sensor picket than previous variants.   It also makes the LCT-1T a high value target on the battlefield.

The weapons configuration was slightly modified to allow for the addition of the active probe, and to allow the LCT-1T to operate far from friendly lines without the need for ammo reloads.   Simply replacing the original machine guns with a pair of Magna Mk. I Small Lasers easily accomplished this.   The LCT-1T retains the Martell Medium Laser mounted in the center torso that is common to all Locusts.

Deployment

The LCT-1T is deployed with the Taurian Concordat Armed Forces.   Only small numbers exist, as the Active Probe is costly to obtain, and deliveries from the Capellan Confederation are often late.   It is estimated that currently, no more than 40 LCT-1Ts actually exist, though this number is difficult to confirm.
